Step back in history to see how a small rural town was caught up in the turmoil of WWII and the gunnerbuilding of a Naval Air Station that swept the community of around 350 people into a new era as it grew to over 25000 and is today the site of one of the United States’ premier Naval Aviation facilities.
Come aboard the Suva and sail back in time! This Gatsby-era schooner was built in 1925 for Coupeville resident and attorney, Frank J Pratt, Jr. She was designed by Ted Geary, a famous Seattle naval architect. She is now the proud flagship of the Coupeville Maritime Heritage Foundation, and open to the public for tours and sailing. Welcome aboard!
