DESCRIPTION:Audition Dates: June 22 + 23 / Time: 12pm – 2pm both days \nDirected by: Sarah Jayne Gallella\, Produced by: Janinne Brunyee \nShow Opens September 6 and runs thru September 29\, 2024. \nThe Savannah Sipping Society is a comedy that touches on the true meaning of friendship and what it means when circumstances force us to adjust to the uncomfortable changes\, twists and turns that confront us in life. 4 Southern women: Randa\, Dot\, Marlafaye and later\, Jinx\, their new “life coach”\, agree to meet on Randa’s veranda on Friday nights for cocktails. \nWe are looking for 4 females to play middle aged women\, and 1 Female non-speaking double cast role. The set will have a flight of stairs for the closing scene\, actors will be required to exit and enter the rest of the set quickly during transition scenes\, and they will need to be able to take a few dance steps. \nAudition Information for The Savannah Sipping Society\, by Jones\, Hope\, Wooten \n \nWhat you need to know: \n​ \n\n\n 	\nPlease be prepared to review the production calendar for conflicts. \n\n 	\nWe will be doing cold readings from the script. Feel free to contact the office to check out a script. \n\n 	\nWe will be doing light movement (4 dance steps). Please dress accordingly in workout attire. \n\n 	\nPlease prepare a joke that you would tell adult friends. 1-3 minutes (nothing racists or obscene). \n\n\n​ \nRoles: \n​ \n\n\n 	\nRanda Covington (stage age approx. 40-50) – Randa is a perfectionist and workaholic\, struggling to cope with a surprise career derailment that reveals that she has no life and no idea how to get one. \n\n 	\nDot Haigler (stage age approx. 55-70) – Dot is still reeling from her husband’s death and the loss of their plans for an idyllic retirement and going blind. As a widowed retiree\, she loves reading steamy romance novels. \n\n 	\nMarlafaye Mosley (stage age approx.40-50) – Texan. Earthy\, boisterous\, revengeful (husband left her for a younger woman). Alcohol distributor. \n\n 	\nJinx Jenkins (stage age approx. 35-50) – A spunky ball of fire\, offers her services as a much-needed life coach for these women. While dealing with her own personal grief. \n\n 	\nRanda’s Grandmother (non-speaking role; stage age 80) – Grandmother of Randa who appears and dies. Elegant matriarch of powerful\, southern family. This role is double cast with multiple women\, actors must be able to get to your knees.

SUMMARY:"Plaza Suite" Auditions at the Whidbey Playhouse
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, January 25 & Sunday\, January 26\, 2025\, 1-3 pm \nInvited callbacks:  Monday\, January 27\, 2025\, 6:30 pm \nAuditions will take place in the Star Studio.\nPlaza Suite is a classic comedy by Neil Simon set in Suite 719 of the Plaza Hotel in New York City.  The play is divided into three acts\, each involving different characters and storylines\, all centered around the suite. \nWe are casting a diverse ensemble of actors to play various roles across all three acts.  Each act will be cast separately.  Lead actors may be called upon to perform supporting or featured roles in other acts.  Please come to auditions knowing which role(s) you are auditioning for.  All roles are open to actors of 18+ years of age. \nCopies of the script are available for checkout at the Whidbey Playhouse office.  Office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1pm to 6 pm. \nThe initial read-through will be on Wednesday\, January 29 at 6:30 pm in the STAR Studio.  Rehearsals start on Monday\, February 10 and be held Monday thru Thursdays from 6:30-9:00 pm
