A special concert will be held on Saturday March 15th at the Nordic Hall a mile south of Coupeville featuring music by Norwegian immigrant composers in celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the first Norwegians immigrating to the United States on the sailing ship Restauration. This free concert will be one hour in length and will begin at 11am.
Our performers are pianist/composer/researcher Steven Luksan and soprano/Nordic art song expert Laura Loge, two musicians who are also presenting concerts, lecture-recitals, and workshops throughout the United States and Norway. Much of the nearly-forgotten music they will present at this concert has been found through Steven’s archival research and has not been heard in a very long time.
We welcome all who enjoy music to come and listen to their blend of classical music, historically popular music (some very silly), and nostalgic chestnuts our grandparents used to sing.
