Downtown Coupeville is mostly contained within an area three blocks wide by two blocks high, which makes it extremely walkable. While there is street parking available on Front Street in front of many businesses, these parking spaces fill up quickly and visitors can quickly become frustrated circling the block waiting for one to free up. Skip the street and drive just 1.5 more block away from the waterfront to find easy, accessible, completely free parking year round!
Free Parking Lots
The Town of Coupeville recently improved and expanded free public parking next to the Coupeville Library at 788 NW Alexander Street. The lot is also open and expanded onto the Community Green during the busy summer months, so more parking is always available. Parking is free year-round, and only 415 feet away from the central corner of Front & Alexander Streets in front of the Coupeville Wharf!
Another parking lot is located just behind the Coupeville Rec Hall along Coveland Street, but this lot is small and fills quickly.
The Town Park off Madrona Way and Colburn have some limited parking spaces as well.
Businesses located out of the Downtown corridor have plenty of parking to offer as you visit other areas of Coupeville and Central Whidbey.
Accessible Parking
Parking for people with disabilities is available in reserved spaces along Front Street, in the Coupeville Rec Hall parking lot, and in the Town Lot mentioned above.
Private/Restricted Parking
Please remember that Coupeville is a small, residential community. Respect any “no parking” signs you may see, do not block driveways, and avoid parking on private property without permission.
Do not park in the Post Office parking lot unless doing business at the Post Office.
There is a lot next to the Platt & Buescher office at 180 NW Coveland, along Coveland Street and next to an empty field in Downtown. This is a private, reserved lot that is not open to the public.
